Personal interests and bio: Dr. Smith grew up in Bethesda, MD. After graduating from University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Biology, she moved to the Bay Area & worked as a veterinary assistant in San Francisco & as a research coordinator at San Francisco General Hospital for several years. She then left the bay area to attend Ross University and become a veterinarian. After completing her clinical training at University of IllinoisSchool of Veterinary Medicine & graduating from vet school in 2003, Dr. Smith practiced in New York City for 5 years, met her husband, Jordan, and then returned to the Bay Area. In her spare time (which isn't much these days), Dr. Smith enjoys running, gardening, reading & skiing. She is thrilled to be a part of the VCA Stanford team. Pets and Family info: Dr. Smith lives in Menlo Park with her husband, 2 busy toddlers, and whatever outside creatures her 3 year-old decides to bring into the house. Her beloved island mutt, Iggy, passed away in December, and she is now waiting for hernext 4-legged family member to come into her life.
