Dr. Picel is a fellowship-trained, board-certified interventional radiologist at Stanford Health Care. He is also clinical associate professor in the Department of Radiology, Division of Interventional Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine.Dr. Picel specializes in diagnosing and treating disease with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. His expertise includes treating liver tumors, benign prostatic hyperplasia, osteoarthritis, portal hypertension, chronic venous disease, uterine fibroids, pulmonary embolism, and varicose veins.Dr. Picel’s research interests include using embolization, a nonsurgical procedure that decreases blood loss, for patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
